WORSHIP WITH ALL YOUR HEART

WORSHIP WITH ALL YOUR HEART
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates... it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

DEVOTION

I've been listening to a lot of worship music during this time in quarantine. Music sets a tone and demeanor for me—it sets a mood. (By the way, shoutout to all of our Crossings worship teams! We have so much talent on our stages every Sunday. We've got everything from bluegrass to Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir to everything in between!)

Back to music: I have caught myself recently just needing noise in the background around the house. Perhaps I should blame it on the eight-plus weeks in close quarters with my hubby, two teenagers, and a 165-pound "lap dog.” Whatever your quarantine looks like, we could all probably use some positive noise and good vibes.

"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates … it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12).

During this time in quarantine, the enemy would like nothing more than to drive a wedge between families and relationships. I'll call this “negative noise.” It might start small, but we need to drown it out. This is our time to worship loudly! Raise the roof!

Will you commit to pray with me for relationships? ALL relationships—family relationships, work relationships, relationships with neighbors, even those with the checkout clerks at stores. We have no idea what each other's quarantines look like, but I can guarantee that we could all use some positive noise in our lives.

"For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them" (Matthew 18:20).

The struggle is real. This all has gotten VERY real. But we are believers—a united front! A mighty fortress!

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come to you today as a band of believers to strengthen our relationships—ALL relationships. Relationships known and unknown. Speak kindness through us, in us, and all around us. Let us be your light. Let us bind together as a united front of kindness. We sing and worship you!

It's in your son's name we pray,

Amen.
