The Art of Following JesusWhen we know who Jesus truly is, we want to follow his example of a rich and meaningful life. But what does that look like today? Amidst hectic schedules, relationship tension, and demanding seasons of life, it can feel difficult to slow down and follow in his footsteps. Together, we’ll explore how we can put Jesus’ teachings into practice to live a transformed life through a vibrant relationship with the Father.

In a world that encourages everyone to embrace “their truth,” it’s no surprise we all seem to know our own Jesus—the agreeable Jesus, the judgmental Jesus, the passive Jesus, etc. But, when we impose our cultural context and personal experiences onto Jesus, we lose the powerful, life-changing truth of who he actually is. In this series leading up to Easter, we’re going to examine the different versions of Jesus we’ve created and rediscover the real Jesus found in Scripture … because if the Jesus we’re acquainted with doesn’t encourage us to love, have compassion, and show humility, we don’t actually know him at all.

God created us for relationship—friendships, families, coworkers, neighbors, spouses, and everyone in between. None of these relationships are perfect, but each one is a place where God does some of his greatest work. In this series, we’ll explore the beauty and the messiness of the relationships God has blessed us with, discovering his design, instructions, and hope for each one of them.

Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs will lead us through this series that includes a biblical approach to cultivate healthy relationships.

Together, these Holy Week services are carefully designed to move you through Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem, the Last Supper, his death, and, ultimately, his triumphant resurrection. 

God’s house is to be a house of prayer, and God’s people are to be people of prayer. The Bible contains many examples of prayer and plenty of encouragement to pray.Prayer is how we express gratitude to God, how we request his help on behalf of others, and how we endure through trials and temptations that we are powerless to overcome by ourselves.Prayer is our primary way of staying connected to God.

Does Jesus inform how we should interact with each other? Does he have a preference for our attitude and behavior in the different relationships we may have?Loving one another sounds easy and even desirable, yet we all know "loving others" can be challenging! So what would it look like to "love each other as Jesus has loved us?" In a divided and sometimes unkind world, how is it possible to carry out the teachings of Jesus about offering unconditional love to those around us? Join Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs as he takes a look at some of the “one anothers” in the Bible and the difference they will make in your life as you truly understand their meaning and how to apply them in your relationships.

Those anticipating a Messiah were expecting a triumphal king, a righteous priest, and a great prophet. Someone to redeem, to save, and to rescue. On a quiet night in Bethlehem, a baby was born in unlikely circumstances to unsuspecting parents. So, how could this be the Savior? How could a humble setting in a manger be the setting for God's love to enter the world? This Christmas sermon series helps us recognize the presence of God when we least expect it.

In the book of Galatians, Paul outlines the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We desire to experience and share these traits as the result of the Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives, but it can be easier said than done!How can we look for the Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives? Where do we turn when we’re struggling with this part of our faith and our human nature? How can we better understand how to live like Jesus and share the Fruit of the Spirit with others?In this series, we will take a closer look at these questions, learn more about the Fruit of the Spirit together, and explore how to recognize the Holy Spirit working in us as followers of Christ.

When you say you’re a follower of Christ, are you ready for what that really means? As Christians, are we really ready to “take up our cross and follow him?” The stakes are high, and opportunity is significant. This calls for radical actions based on a radical commitment to the one who demonstrated radical love.  Jesus held nothing back. He gave his life. We do not have the luxury of following him only when it’s convenient—we are called to follow him on a life-changing journey.Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs will lead us through a new series, Radical, and explore what it looks like to stop playing it safe and truly live out what we believe.

Summer in the Psalms explores one of the most diverse books of the Bible and the wisdom in these songs of worship to God. The Psalms remind us of God’s nature and grace, and allow us to see from a new perspective how God walks with us through every trial and rejoices in our triumphs.

What does it mean to move forward in your spiritual life? As followers of Jesus, we want to become more like him and demonstrate God’s love as he did, but what are practical steps we can take so we aren't feeling stuck?This June, Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs will lead us through our new series, Movementum, which explores what it means to live in authentic faith, grow in our relationship with God, and simplify the essentials of our spiritual lives.

Our world reminds us there are many things to fear: failure, not being accepted, not being valued, not being loved. What if we don't measure up to the expectations of God or others? What if we can't truly be ourselves? Fearless series explores what it looks like to find our confidence in who God says we are, not what the world says we should be. Fearless will remind us what the Bible says about fear, faith, and finding strength in our identities as followers of Christ.

What we think about Jesus greatly influences our daily lives. He has an impact on everything: how we work, where we spend our time and money, and how we treat others around us. If we are not careful, our perception of him can get unclear over time. In this series, Kingdom Culture, we take a look at the book of Colossians–a letter written to people not too different from us–and discover where we need to refocus on Jesus in our lives.

Each new year brings with it a chance to take a closer look at our lives and readjust our priorities. We have the opportunity to ask ourselves: what do I want to do differently this year? How can I change what I know isn’t working?This series will explore what it looks like to navigate the uncertainty in our daily lives as followers of Christ and deal with the issues that attempt to destroy us.

The Christmas season reminds us of God’s promises: as Wonderful Counselor, he is close to those who are hurting and comforts us in our trials. As Mighty God, he provides for us and will never fail us. As Everlasting Father, he is with us always and will finish the work he started in us. As Prince of Peace, he gives us rest and lifts our burdens. Above all, he loves us and has given us the ultimate gift through his Son, Jesus. When we celebrate Christmas, we are reminded of these promises, but how do we live our lives in light of God’s faithfulness and goodness? How do these promises shape who we are as followers of Christ?

The teachings of Jesus reveal something much greater than we constantly hear from the world. Jesus shows us ways we can withstand the pressures of life and change our perspective on what a good life looks like. But what is he offering us? How can we put it into practice? Jesus’ teaching in the Sermon on the Mount turned the wisdom of the world upside down and showed us a better way of living that only exists when we put our trust in him. This radical new way is dedicated to God and free from hypocrisy and judgment. We learned many lessons during the pandemic that we would most likely never have learned otherwise. When friends or loved ones were fighting COVID, we had the opportunity of focusing on the most important things in our lives—the things that mattered most. Beginning Sunday, August 22, Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs kicks off a new series, Build a Life That Matters, which will look at three specific ways we can prioritize and cultivate purposeful lives and build strong relationships.

Our summer series, I’ve Been Thinking, began Sunday, July 4, and will share weekly messages to encourage us and guide us in our faith.

How can we make sense of hardship, suffering, and situations beyond our understanding? Even though they may not seem like it at the time, trials can be gifts–they allow us to truly trust God and lean on him. We can look to Job in the Bible for an example of how to trust God in the midst of difficult circumstances. As Job’s story reminds us, on the other side of the trials we face is a life we could never have imagined–and a life only possible through God. This April, Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs will lead us in exploring the book of Job through our series, Unwavering, which reminds us of God’s faithfulness and goodness in every circumstance.

Who is Jesus? What is the Gospel? In a world bombarded with trials and troubles, we’re longing for good news more than ever. What if the good news we’re searching for is closer than we think? How can we experience the freedom and joy God intended for us? Learn who Jesus is and explore the transformative power of the Gospel through the book of Luke in our March series, Good News.

If the year 2020 taught us anything, it reminded us just how temporary things can be on planet earth. This has been a season that begged us to stop and reflect, evaluate, and prioritize. Covid occasionally took our breath away ... stunned by the loved ones lost, career paths diverted, and the future covered in thick fog. Maybe there were days you felt you could hardly breathe, days you might have said, “I feel like I’m drowning.” A new year brings the opportunity to hit the reset button and allow God to give you a whole new purpose, a new outlook, a renewed faith, and a commitment to what really matters. Join Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs for this new series which will show you how to “breathe” again, be free of worry and anxiety, gain a new perspective, and build a stronger faith.

All of us were reminded this year that we want something greater than what the world delivers. We long for peace and hope, which can only be found in one source. God promises us these longings are fulfilled in Jesus Christ. On Sunday, December 6, Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs began our Christmas sermon series, Hope Is Here, to help us recognize the power of God’s promises in our lives.

When was the last time you experienced serenity in your daily life? It’s no secret that our lives can be full of anxiety, stress, and distractions. It’s not easy to keep our focus centered on God or our eternity with him when our lives are so complicated. Many times, it’s tough to have the wisdom and courage to trust in God, but he wants us to rest in his faithfulness and not worry about the things beyond our control. On Sunday, November 1, Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs began a new series, Serenity, to remind us of the importance of completely trusting in God and his will through both trials and triumphs.

On Sunday, October 4, Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs began the series, There Was Jesus, which reminds us just how deeply Jesus loves and cares for us, no matter our mistakes, trials, and challenges.When you’re experiencing a difficult season, where do you find hope? When you’re hurting, where do you look for healing or encouragement?Even in our darkest moments, when we feel far away from our faith because of our circumstances or sins, Jesus is close to us and loves us more than we can fathom. He wants nothing more than for us to lean on him, trust in him, and know we’re never alone.

Summer Series 2020 will share weekly messages of hope, guide us in living our faith among our neighbors and community, and encourage us to serve those around us.

It is a time of rejoicing and hope; it symbolizes forgiveness, rebirth, and God’s saving power. Easter is a celebration of Christ’s victory over sin and death!We invite you to join us as we begin our annual journey to the cross and the empty tomb.

Conflict is inevitable in our lives, but we have a choice in how we deal with it. Our world tells us to avoid conflict or try to win it. As Christians, we can focus on a third option: the option we actually want and need, which is reconciliation that glorifies God and strengthens our relationships.This March, our sermon series, War and Peace: An Opportunity to Reconcile, will help us understand conflict in a biblical context and how God intends conflict to be used to demonstrate his love and invite others into his kingdom.

Many years ago, the front cover of Forbes magazine posed the question: “Why do we feel so bad when we have it so good?” Our society has never been as depressed as it is now. The second leading cause of death among people aged 10-24 is suicide. There are so many reasons our kids, families, marriages, schools, and communities are in trouble.Psalm 34:18 reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs frankly and honestly explores these issues–and how we can experience hope in our most challenging seasons–in the series, Undone, from January 12-February 23, 2020.

The Christmas season always seems to arrive with anxiety. There is so much to be accomplished in such a short amount of time! Add to this any financial pressures, relational conflicts within families, and social gatherings, all mixed with fatigue, and it can be a recipe for disaster.While it’s challenging to alleviate this stress, we can take time to refocus and remember just how much we are loved, valued, forgiven, and empowered in this season. We have to make sure we don’t let the trappings of Christmas overshadow the reason for Christmas!God loves us so much he wants us to know him personally, so he sent his son, Jesus, to earth to demonstrate his boundless love for us. This December, Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs leads us through this incredible story in our Christmas sermon series called Love Came Down.

There are many circumstances that can shift our focus from God and wear us down: financial instability, physical ailments, illness, grief, loss, and the stress of our daily lives. What does it look like for our church to go into the world? Blessed. It’s a word we hear and use often, but do we ever consider what it truly means? How often do we use #blessed with biblical context in our minds? The truth is, blessed means so much more than just superficial happiness; it means we’re spiritually well and prospering.Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and the Beatitudes detailed in the book of Matthew give us a biblical framework for how God views being blessed, and it’s certainly different from what our world tells us being blessed looks like. This July, we will discover what being blessed truly means and how the Beatitudes help us become better disciples.

How often to we find ourselves crying out to God in times of trouble, but feeling self-sufficient when everything is going well? How many times do we wonder whether God is around when our prayers go unanswered? Do we prioritize relationships in our church, community, and family that bring us closer to God?When we think about intimacy with God and an honest, loving relationship with him, we can think it’s out of reach for us or reserved for only certain people. Family is one thing that can look very different for each of us.
