Dear Jesus, it’s not always easy to follow you—to keep in step and not deviate from your established path. I detour onto dangerous and dead-end roads of rebellion, self-indulgence, pride, status building, image management—taking the beautiful truth of my freedom in Christ beyond the healthy barriers you’ve set up to protect me. Lord, give me your perspective and divine guidance to turn me back to my roots, being firmly in your grip. As I walk in faith and experience your joy and love, let my overflowing gratitude be so contagious that more and more lost people fall into step alongside me.
