DAY 27 – MARCH 19

DAY 27 – MARCH 19

Sitting across from the offering box, he was observing how the crowd tossed money in for the collection. Many of the rich were making large contributions. One poor widow came up and put in two small coins—a measly two cents. Jesus called his disciples over and said, ‘The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they’ll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn’t afford—she gave her all.” - Mark 12:41-44 MSG

Dear God, you see how I spend the time, money, and resources you have given me. One look at my debit or credit card statement reveals all I need to know, but you see beyond the transactions into the motivations behind them. I want the heart of the widow who gave her all. I don’t want to hold back and give only what I will never miss; I want to be extravagant in my gifts to you and others. With every ad or commercial I see or hear, let me find more ways, creative and new ideas, to give and bless, even if I have only pocket change left. In Jesus’ name, amen.
