Devotional | Marq Youngblood | Nov 1, 2020
When experiencing significant life challenges, anxious thoughts and worries threaten to fill our lives. Those times are too often accompanied by feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Reflecting on difficult incidents in my health, career, ministry, and family when it seemed things might end in disaster, God was more than enough to bring me through each one. My shoulders were not broad enough or strong enough to carry the load of life challenges, and the only way to successfully face those situations was to have faith in God. Faith enables us to cast or throw with authority all our anxieties on God.
Casting our anxiety on God doesn’t mean we have an absence of pain and suffering. It means we have the privilege and ability to trust God and his Word over our feelings and emotions.
Our opportunity and responsibility is to trust God wholeheartedly at all times, realizing that nothing is too big or too small for our God who cares so much for us. We can trust God to do what we are unable to do.
Remember, no matter how many challenges we face or how significant they may be, God cares for us and invites us to place them under his mighty hand through trusting him with them all. We trust him to deliver us in his time.
Surrendering to God’s timing can be a challenge for us because the longer we experience the impact of undesirable circumstances, the greater the temptation to doubt God’s ability. God cares for us and in every case, he’s able to work for our good and his glory.
We should always remember:
Because God cares for us, we can trust him in all circumstances at all times, and be his means of demonstrating his concern for others through us.
Father,
We acknowledge there is no one who compares to you. We are grateful for your amazing grace and faithfulness. We know your Word is true and your power is supreme. Please strengthen us in mind, body, and spirit as we trust you to care for us and meet our needs. We trust you and your ability above anything and anyone else. Draw us closer to you today and every day so we may experience more of you. We readily release our worries and anxieties and receive your peace that calms our fears. In the mighty name of Christ.
Jesus we pray,
Amen.
