SCRIPTURE

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. - Romans 8:28 NIV

PRAYER

Father,

The hope I have is rooted in the knowledge that you care about what is going on in the world. You haven’t abandoned us. You don’t take away the suffering, but you use it. You don’t take us on a path circumventing hurt and heartache; we must go through it, but you are working all of it for the good. I can have faith in knowing you are always working, for me and not against me, and for my good. I love you, Lord; you have called me to love you and others, and in so doing, you will take all things—every single thing—and work them out for my good. There is no greater hope.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

Have you seen glimpses in how God is working things in your life for the good? What about during this present time in the world. What good have you seen come out of it already?

CALL TO ACTION

Today’s prayer reminds us God is working all things out for our good. Do you ever stop to think about what this truly means? God provides a path for us that builds our faith and character, inspires us to love and care for others, and allows us to create disciples by sharing our stories and our circumstances. Today, simply pause and consider this truth.
