SCRIPTURE

For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. - Ephesians 3:14-19 NIV

PRAYER

Dear God,

Thank you that I am counted as part of your family, blessed to share in the glorious riches that strengthen my inner being. I couldn’t earn it, but through faith alone, your Spirit dwells within me and reveals glimpses as I seek them, of the immeasurable love you have for me and my brothers and sisters in Christ. It is your love that binds us to one another. It is our identity founded in you, established in your love, that we can grasp the measure of all your fullness—not lacking or wanting, but “fully filled” to the point of overflowing, with your pure, complete love. As I grow to understand your generous love, may I strive to be known by mine.

In your name I pray,

JOURNAL REFLECTION

What does it mean to you to be part of the family of God? How would you describe being filled to the fullness of God? Is that how you feel right now? If not, pray through the Scripture. Use different translations and pray through it several times. Some translations you may try are the New Living Translation (NLT), New International Version (NIV), The Message, English Standard Version (ESV), The Passion Translation (TPT), or the New King James Version (NKJV).

CALL TO ACTION

Even in these strange, uncertain, and unsettling times, we can focus on one truth that remains no matter our circumstances: God loves us more than we could ever comprehend. Reflect on that truth, and let its power take root in your heart. Today, listen to the worship songs “Fullness” and “Reckless Love” and thank God for his provision, mercy, and love.
