A Thinking Challenge

A Thinking Challenge

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7

DEVOTION

Whatever we focus on, we become.

Positive minds produce positive lives.

Negative minds produce negative lives.

I challenge you to think about what you are thinking about!

When we think negatively, we speak negatively. We should choose our thoughts carefully. We can think about what is wrong with our lives or about what is right with them!

We can think about what is wrong with all the people we are in relationships with, or we can see the good and focus on the positive. The Bible teaches us to always believe the best in people. When we do that, it makes our own lives happier and more peaceful.

I saw this saying, and I love to repeat it, “As you wander on through life, whatever be your goal, keep your eye upon the donut and not upon the hole.” Don’t focus on what is not there, focus on what is!

Yes, I do love donuts, so maybe that’s why it resonated with me, but understand that we cannot have a positive life and a negative mind. Our thoughts—where we focus—determine where we are. Set your mind on positive, beautiful, and healthy thoughts. The more we focus on those things, the more readily we defeat Satan’s attacks.

PRAYER

Lord,

You know my mind, you know my thoughts, give me strength to center my mind on what is true, noble, and praiseworthy. Change my thoughts when they waver. Keep my eyes on You.

In Jesus’ name I pray,

Amen.
