Crossings Community Clinic is beginning a new chapter this year by welcoming Executive Director, Marq Youngblood.
An OKC native, Marq came to Crossings Community Church over five years ago by attending the Global Leadership Summit where he met countless Crossings members and got to explore Crossings OKC campus. When the Executive Director position opened up, two Crossings members who knew Marq felt the nudge to talk to him about it. “They asked me to pray about being considered for the position,” Marq said. “I sensed the call of God to apply.”
Marq is uniquely qualified and called to the Executive Director position and feels God is preparing to use his leadership and experience to continue the legacy of the Clinic. “God is using my experience and personal development as a leader to work with the Clinic team to identify and act upon ways to serve our patients more effectively and efficiently,” Marq said. “This will be the foundation for greater things God has in store for us.”
Marq’s Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and Gerontology from Southern Nazarene University and Master’s degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, coupled with his esteemed career and experience serving in state and federal government, corporate, and non-profit efforts, further underscore his heart for others and his willingness to be the hands and feet of Jesus in all he does. His previous experience with Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) have honed his skills as a leader and allowed him to connect deeply with his employees and community.
As Executive Director, Marq is responsible for providing leadership and management of the Clinic. In this position, he will work with Crossings Community Church leaders and the Clinic Board of Directors to ensure high-quality care is provided to the diverse and growing patient population base. Additionally, he and the Clinic team will continue to provide enriching experiences for a large group of volunteers to deepen their Christian walk.
“God is leading me to love and value each staff member, provider, volunteer, and patient affiliated with the Clinic to establish strong, trusting relationships,” Marq said. “Doing this will enable us to work very well as a team to achieve our vision.”
In addition to the strategy, dedication, prayer, and continued leadership in his new role, Marq is excited to make a meaningful, positive difference in the lives of the Clinic team members and in the lives of those they serve. Marq is passionate about leading, developing people and teams, and helping others in becoming the best they can be. Outside of his position as Executive Director, he also finds time for self-development, leadership development, public speaking, traveling, and reading.
Marq is married to his high school sweetheart, Doris, and they will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this coming November 25. They have three children–two daughters and a son–and have been blessed with two sons-in-law and five grandchildren. A couple of interesting facts about Marq: he’s traveled to over 25 states and he is also an ordained Methodist and Baptist minister!
