More about Feed the Hunger

Feed the Hunger is a Christian ministry delivering hope through life-saving meals to malnourished children around the world. These meals are an open door to helping individuals find and follow Jesus with tools like Bibles, bicycles, and micro-enterprise projects. Physical hunger is met through the provision of nutritious food, clean water, and emergency aid and relief among (1) at-risk children in America and overseas, (2) those in crises, such as refugees and victims of natural disasters, and (3) ethnic groups that are just beginning to be reached with the message of Jesus.

Why partner with Feed the Hunger?

Because we believe in the power of Jesus to bring hope and healing, even in the darkest of places, Crossings partners with Christian organizations like Feed the Hunger who are committed to meet both the physical needs and spiritual needs of children all over the world.

Across all Crossings locations and three prisons, our Crossings family packed 700,000 last year and 500,000 meals in 2024 that went to children living in orphanages, low-income schools, brothels, and safe-houses where children have been rescued from human trafficking.

The meals packed last year enabled over 2900 children in Bangladesh to receive nutritious meals for an entire year. Because of the open door created by these meals, many of these kids will also receive clean water, hygiene kits, medical care, school supplies, and Bibles.

Why Ghana?

In Ghana, millions of young children don’t get the nutritious food they need to grow and thrive. In fact, nearly 2.4 million kids under age five face food poverty and malnutrition. Healthy meals aren’t just about feeling full; they help children learn better, build strong immune systems, and prevent stunted growth.

Access to good nutrition can truly change a child’s future by helping kids stay in school, focus in class, and perform better academically. Feed the Hunger's strategic ministry partner in Ghana is currently feeding 7,000 children a week through school feeding programs in the northern area.

The meals you provide bless unreached people in an area that is made up of mostly Muslims. Each child not only receives these nutritious meals, but also an opportunity to experience the love of Christ and hear the message of hope through the presentation of the gospel.

Why Bangladesh?

With a population of about 170 million people in an area smaller than the state of Oklahoma, which has about 4 million people, Bangladesh is considered one of the world’s Top 10 most populous countries.

It’s home to the world’s largest refugee camp—the Rohingya Refugees. Families with small children who were forced to flee their home country, Myanmar, live in this walled-in community, relying on the outside world to provide food, supplies, medical care, and schooling for their children.

Millions of Bangladeshi children live with little or no access to essentials like food, clean water, education, or medical care—and are forced to live on the streets.

Prostitution has been legalized in Bangladesh, but not regulated, which leaves millions of children at risk for human-trafficking. In fact, the world’s largest brothel is located in Bangladesh with over 2,000 workers.

The primary religion in Bangladesh is Islam (88%) with only .003% claiming to be Christian. Those who are Christ-followers often practice their faith privately for fear of persecution, imprisonment, or even loss of life.
