Karma, yoga, meditation, mindfulness, enlightenment, the inner light, the wheel of life are ideas and practices commonplace around the world. Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Daoism, and Indigenous folk religions have all found their way and place in the modern world and Western cultures. What do they believe and teach? Why do some people say that all religions basically teach the same thing and are all ways to salvation and God? How is the follower of Jesus to understand them and the people who follow them? How can Christians connect with, live with, and authentically love people of other faiths, other beliefs? Can Christians learn anything from world religions? This 13-week class explores four major world religions and related questions about belief systems.
