LEADER BIO: Christopher Bennett grew up in Virginia Beach but moved around a lot. He served overseas in Security Forces in the Air Force before going back to Virginia Tech and graduating with a Bachelor’s in Human Development. Having a passion for acting, he took a leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting where he met another actor at church named Eme who soon became his wife. About a year later, they ended up in Oklahoma to help care for her parents. They both became Realtors, and then Real Estate Brokers, started their own Branch Office with a locally owned company and have been selling Real Estate in Edmond and the surrounding Metro Area for the past 15 years.
During this time, Christopher earned a Masters in The Psychology of Leadership from Penn State. With a passion for helping others grow, he felt led to begin and form a weekly Men’s Leadership Group called ’’Arms Length Leadership’’ and determined in his heart that he would show up even if nobody else did. That was 7 years ago, and it is still going strong. The same year he and his wife also began facilitating a group for CareSeries on Monday evenings at Crossings; the following year, he began leading the Route 66 Men’s Bible Study on Wednesday evenings, where a group of men read through the 66 books of the Bible and discuss their thoughts on the reading. He also leads a second Route 66 Bible Study of only 2-3 men who meet at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays, and he will often substitute teach for Home Builders Sunday School class at 9:30 a.m.
