ENLACE is our global partner that equips local churches in El Salvador, Nepal, Guatemala, and the U.S. to transform their communities. Our partnership focuses on El Salvador.
The COVID-19 cases in El Salvador remain low due to the preventive lock-downs that were radically enforced. However, the economic impact is devastating for families who already live on the margins.
This is the greatest crisis facing Latin America in more than 100 years; however, local churches and communities are already trained and mobilized to respond.
Over the past several months, the ENLACE staff has been working with local church and community leaders to identify and respond to the families at greatest risk during and after the COVID-19 crisis and those recently impacted by two major hurricanes.
In partnership with local churches, they have coordinated with local officials to ensure that food supplies and financial subsidies get to the most vulnerable families. They have provided basic food supplies to families that did not receive assistance because they worked in the informal sector or are not registered officially with their local authorities. Many of the most vulnerable and under-resourced families were falling through the cracks.
At Crossings Edmond, we have an opportunity to partner with ENLACE in response to this crisis and make an impact in the same area where some of our church family members have already served.
From February 28 - March 28, you have an opportunity to sponsor a family in developing a chicken farm, which will not only provide food for their family, but also for their local community.
Our goal is to sponsor 20 families/farms ($18,000). Here is how you can participate:
• $300 per family for chickens and training for the first year. The program runs for three years.
• $900 per family for chickens and training for the entire three years.
• $25 monthly commitment for three years to support a family farm.
• One-time gift.
