Devotional | Pam Ingle | May 29, 2020
Look backward to be reminded of the things we have been through together. The times when I carried you, strengthened you, and emphasized how much you were loved by Me. Remember, too, the times of triumphal rejoicing, of silence, of peace, and the times where there was great sorrow. All of these times were beneficial in bringing you closer to Me.
Look forward and envision the promises I have pledged to those who love Me: goodness, mercy, grace, peace, love, protection, provision, ever-lasting salvation, and the list goes on. These things have no ending. They will continue to draw you closer to Me.
Look at today and expect opportunities which will help you focus on Me and not what is happening around you. Dwell with Me in the present time to ponder what I have done, what I am doing, and what I am going to do with and through you. Commune with Me in the now to gain understanding and perspective, and to experience a closeness to Me like no other time.
Return to Me in the present when you begin to focus on the “what if” and “if only” thoughts, and when you begin to feel lonely, fearful, or that you are at your wits’ end.
Before you seek anything else, return to Me with your whole heart.
Return to Me and I will help you decipher what is beneficial for your life and confirm for you fear has no part in faith.
Return to me and I will teach you to think and choose wisely and help you understand the difference between want and need.
Return to Me and I will give you comfort, peace, hope, and salvation.
Do not linger in the “what if” and the “if only.” They have no promise, and they offer you no peace.
Return to Me with your whole heart in the present time, the place where you and I abide together at the same time. This is where I will give you rest.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for consistently loving us the way you do and for so graciously bidding us back when we stray. Help us to return to you with our whole hearts so that we will remain focused on you in the good times and during the challenging times that this life brings. Bring us peace and understanding as we practice staying in the present time with you.
We pray these things in the wonderful name of Jesus.
Amen.
