SCRIPTURE

The Lord is my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough. He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss. That’s where he restores and revives my life. He opens before me pathways to God’s pleasure and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness so that I can bring honor to his name. Lord, even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way. Your authority is my strength and my peace. The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I’ll never be lonely, for you are near. - Psalm 23:1-6 TPT

PRAYER

Lord,

As we begin to figure out what the new normal for us is going to be and navigate this different road before us, I am reminded that you will go before me and care for me as a shepherd does his sheep. You will provide what I need, and then some. You offer me rest and lead me to an oasis of peace, alleviating fear of the unknown. You walk before me, opening the pathways so I can follow. And when those paths forge through darkness, fear will not be my companion, you will for you have conquered all I have to fear already. Guide me, Lord. Lead me. Comfort me.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

What fears or anxiety do you feel during this time? How does knowing God goes before you help you through those? Look again at the Scripture; underline, or write down, the words that comfort you. Pray those words throughout your day.

CALL TO ACTION

We know it is natural to be fearful about our uncertain futures, but as Christians, we also know God is paving the way for us, and he is there for us to lean on when we get weary or anxious. Today, turn to God and pray about the things that are causing you worry, fear, or anxiety and allow his peace to wash over you.
