SCRIPTURE

Here’s the one thing I crave from God, the one thing I seek above all else: I want the privilege of living with him every moment in his house, finding the sweet loveliness of his face, filled with awe, delighting in his glory and grace. I want to live my life so close to him that he takes pleasure in my every prayer. - Psalm 27:4 TPT

PRAYER

Dear God,

How awesome it is that you have filled me and dwell within me. I carry the Holy Spirit with me in every thought, every action, every prayer. But that’s not the same as living my life close to you, being in step with you. That requires seeking you, in order to know you, to discern and align with your will. That is my prayer today, to live closer to you. What an honor it is to have you dwell with me, to personally experience your kindness and grace, and to delight in your glory. Know my heart Lord, and may my prayer be pleasing to you.

In your name I pray,

Amen.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

How are you in-step, or out-of-step, with God right now? Knowing the Holy Spirit is within you, how can you use that incredible truth to be closer to God?

CALL TO ACTION

Today’s prayer causes us to examine a paramount facet of our faith: seeking God. Are we seeking God and deepening our relationships with him every day? It is one thing to desire to be closer to God, and another to seek him and work toward being closer to him every day. Listen to the worship song, “The More I Seek You,” and pour out your heart to God. Share with him your desire to be closer to him, and ask him for guidance in achieving that closeness in your relationship.
