SCRIPTURE

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one. - John 10:27-30 NLT

PRAYER

Dear Jesus,

Calm my mind and quiet my heart so I can hear your voice today above all others. Remind me that you tend to me with the zealousness of a shepherd—provision, protection, rest, guidance, ownership, knowing my unique needs—and you don’t take your eyes off of me. Nothing can snatch me from your faithful arms: not worry, anxiety, seduction of the world, anything that is not “good.” Stand between me and whatever might cause spiritual harm to me today. Speak to me, Father, through audible voice, your Word, my circumstances, or the caring voice of a friend. I am listening. Nudge me. Prod me. Hold me. Lead me. Own me, and never let me go.

Amen.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

How does God speak to you? Have you stopped to quiet yourself and listen for him lately? Pause now, and then record anything God is revealing to you.

CALL TO ACTION

Today’s prayer is a powerful reminder of the intimacy, love, and tender care God has for us. Have you been spending this time in isolation listening for his voice, or have you lost it in the noise of distractions, exhaustion, and fear? Today, make time to be still, be quiet, and do everything you can to shut off the noise and listen for God’s voice.
