SCRIPTURE

Jesus replied, “Listen to the truth. If you have no doubt of God’s power and speak out of faith’s fullness, you can be the ones who speak to a tree and it will wither away. Even more than that, you could say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and be thrown into the sea’ and it will be done. Everything you pray for with the fullness of faith you will receive!” - Matthew 21:21-22 TPT

PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

We have worked together to flatten the curve, to bend rising trends, and lower devastating projections of this pervasive disease, and we have seen some positive results. But, Lord, the mountain before us is just as steep and treacherous. In addition to staving off, and treating the virus, we also need to rebuild our lives and livelihoods. Our community is just beginning to see the aftermath of this epidemic, reflected in empty buildings, “Closed” signs, unemployment numbers, and in tired and masked faces of friends and strangers. I come to you in the most powerful position possible—on my knees with head bowed—pleading with you to join your power with my faith and move this mountain, and may it never rise before us again.

In your omnipotent name,

Amen.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

With all the new obstacles we are facing because of COVID-19, identifying the mountain in front of you is critical. Do you believe God has given you the power to affect the outcome? How much faith do you think is enough faith?

CALL TO ACTION

Today’s prayer calls us to envision the mountain in front of us and consider the crucial role of our faith in our next steps. The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted our certainty, our stability, and our comfort, but our foundation of faith remains unshakeable and immovable. Take time today to earnestly pray for God to strengthen your faith in the coming days. Thank God for his provision and love for you, and reflect on the ways you can fortify your relationship with him no matter your earthly circumstances.
