FEAR NOT

FEAR NOT
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

DEVOTION

I was pulling into my garage after a busy morning. I had two sick daughters who needed medicine, I needed to get money for our babysitter, I needed to get the girls to two different locations, and I had to get ready to go to the church for a meeting.

I was feeling worn thin. I pulled into the garage and saw my tennis bag hanging on the wall like it always does. I looked closer this time and noticed the strap. The strap was all shredded except for one tiny strand left still hanging on.

My first thought was that I felt the exact same way: hanging on by a thread. I couldn’t stop thinking about that strand, though. What was the one thread that, if it broke, would make me fall down? I thought all day and couldn’t come up with anything.

I realized that there isn’t anything that can break us as Christians. God will always have a hold on us.

The world around us may be crumbling. We may lose our jobs, our health, our family members’ health; loved ones may pass away; family may turn their backs on us; we may feel isolated—the list goes on and on. Through all these strands of our life breaking one by one, we can have hope that God will never break. He will never leave his throne. He won’t let us down.

Crossings family, as we go through troubles in our lives, always remember to put your hope and trust in God. Everything else will fail, but he never will.

PRAYER

Lord,

Grant us peace and comfort in knowing that you are almighty. You are constant and dependable. You will never let us fall. You will never leave us. Let us always remember to turn to you in life’s challenges. You are our source of strength amidst the battles of life.

Amen.
