DAY 27

DAY 27

SCRIPTURE

“Then he said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.’” - Luke 8:48 NIV "And Jesus said to the man, ‘Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.’” - Luke 17:19 NLT

PRAYER

Dear Jesus,

Because we all die a physical death, healing is often misunderstood. I am reminded that true healing means restoring to health spiritually and being made whole. From the day I first believed, you have been healing me. My relationship with God was made whole, and you restored the wounds of sins by removing shame. I know of physical healing explained only by the work of your hands. When I pray, let me seek your restoration and believe my faith has resulted in healing, wherever that lies within your will. And when healing comes in the form of a last breath on earth, followed by being made whole in the presence of your heavenly glory, let me experience true peace because of my faith.

Amen.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

How have you experienced the healing of Jesus in your life? The Greek word translated as healing in the Bible is often defined as being made whole, or restoring to health “spiritually.” Considering that definition, what are your thoughts on how God has answered prayers in the past? How you will pray in the future?

CALL TO ACTION

When we think about healing and restoration, our spiritual lives probably aren’t the first things that come to mind. But think about all the things that can chip away at our spiritual lives: trials, trauma, grief, illness, devastation. If we don’t actively pursue God, especially when parts of our spiritual lives get rusty, broken, or even completely destroyed, we can be left in shambles. Today, search your heart and ask God to uncover those parts of your walk with him that need healing and the restoration only he can give—and allow him to work.
