DAY 24

DAY 24

SCRIPTURE

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. - 1 Peter 5:7 NLT

PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

With the health crisis and all the people it is affecting, as well as other unsettling circumstances in the world and in my personal life, I find it easy to get caught up in worry. Things can feel so ominous, so hopeless. So, I come to you today, Lord, asking you to take my worries and all that troubles me, for I know you care for me. Thank you that my hope isn’t found in anything in this world, but in Christ alone. Quiet my thoughts, bring serenity to my soul, and bring calmness to my heart. Fill me with your peace that passes all human understanding.

In confident assurance of eternal hope I pray,

Amen.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

How would you describe your thoughts and emotions during this health crisis around the world, or any other personal crisis? Do you find yourself caught up in worry or hope? How does God show his care for you?

CALL TO ACTION

With all that’s going on in our world, it’s easy for worry to creep in and for us to take our eyes off God. As today’s prayer reminds us, our hope isn’t found in earthly things–thank goodness!–but in God alone, and he deeply cares for each one of us. Today, listen to the worship song, My Living Hope,” and turn your worries over to God.
