DAY 23

DAY 23

SCRIPTURE

Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. - Romans 6:13-14

PRAYER

Dear God,

Thank you for sending Jesus to fulfill the law so that I am no longer bound to living under its requirements and instead live under the freedom of your gift of grace. Once I gave my life to you, I could not help but be changed, transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit. Keep me from veering from freedom of grace to license to sin. In my state of grace, I have new life. I completely surrender every ounce of my being to you—mind, body, heart, and soul. Use me Lord. Reveal your will to me. Lead me and equip me to use my freedom to do what is right, to serve you and your kingdom.

May all glory be yours,

Amen.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

How does living under the freedom of God’s grace sometimes get confused with a license to continue sinning, or continuing with a lifestyle that isn’t pleasing to God? What does it mean to you to use your whole body as an instrument for God’s glory?

CALL TO ACTION

As you reflect on today’s prayer, consider what amazing freedom we enjoy through living for Jesus. Think about the boundless, relentless, unwavering grace God offers us, even knowing we will stumble and stray from him. Today, listen to the worship song, “Good Grace,” and thank God for his love, forgiveness, mercy, and grace.
