Dear God, thank you for your Word, alive and powerful, revealing your truth and wisdom as I seek to know you. Shine light into all the passages I read, and lead me to resources to take your Word beyond skin deep. Help me to use your word for necessary surgery, removing sin and disease, cutting through scars from wounds I let fester, opening my heart and mind to your influence. As I grow to know you, my greatest hope is to align my innermost thoughts and desires with yours. In the name of Jesus, the Word, amen.
