DAY 12

DAY 12

SCRIPTURE

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. - Romans 1:20

PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

When I see the colors in the sunrise and sunset, or hear distant thunder while watching storm clouds approach bringing with them the smell of quenching rain, I’m reminded only you can create something from nothing. Your sustaining, eternal power and divine nature are on perfect display for all to see. How could I deny you for even one day? Magnify your presence in creation today; make your invisible qualities visible in ways I can show clearly to others to help them recognize, perhaps for the first time, you are the artist, the sculptor, the master planner of heaven and earth. You are the Divine Creator.

It is in your name I pray,

Amen.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

Which qualities of God do you encounter in the world he created? What thoughts do you have about the part of the verse that says, “They have no excuse for not knowing God”? Did creation play a role in you coming to have a relationship with God? If yes, how so?

CALL TO ACTION

God reminds us of his presence in even the tiniest details of our lives: the first spring flowers, a warm breeze, crisp autumn leaves, a flurry of snowflakes. We tend to be so consumed with our to-do lists and schedules we miss God’s presence through creation in our lives. Today, explore his incredible creation in some way: take a prayer walk, pause to take in the sunset, or just slow down and admire your surroundings.
