SCRIPTURE

And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. - Matthew 28:20b

PRAYER

Dear Jesus,

Those words you spoke to the disciples, as you reassured them and commissioned them to take the gospel truth forward, are as comforting today as they were all those years ago. In these uncertain times, I can find myself doubting like the eleven disciples did, but just as you said, I can be assured you are always with me. I will hold onto that promise today, tomorrow, the next day, and every day for the rest of my life. You are my constant companion. When I begin to fill with fear or doubt, overwhelm me with your promised presence.

Amen, let it be so.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

Jesus appeared to the disciples after resurrecting from the dead—when they felt abandoned, confused, alone. He reassured them that he was who he said he was and that he would always be with them. This promise is yours, too—what does that mean to you? How would you explain that Jesus is always with you to someone doubting or losing faith?

CALL TO ACTION

God is always with us. Pause and reflect on that truth for a moment today. God walks with us through trials, carries us when we are exhausted, and rejoices with us in our triumphs. Whenever you feel waves of fear and doubt crash around you, hold onto the promise that you are never alone. Tonight, tune into Stories of Faith and Doubt in the Life of Israel online to be reminded of this powerful truth.
