SCRIPTURE

Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. - Psalm 63:3-4 NIV

PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

Just a week ago, we celebrated the greatest act of love in the history of the world. You chose love over life. As I look back over the past week, I confess I haven’t responded consistently in a way that glorifies you. This is my prayer: every moment of every day, I choose you. When I am tired, I will bow to you in reverence. When I feel defeated, I will lift my hands in worship. When I am afraid, I will proclaim your faithfulness. When I weep, I will confess your goodness. When I am weak, I will use my breath to praise you. Use my life to bring glory to your name as a love offering, until the day when my faith becomes sight, and I stand before you and praise you face to face.

Amen.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

How would you describe your “state of being” today? How can you turn it into praise? What are some words you can use to worship the Lord right now?

CALL TO ACTION

Extended time spent in isolation is uncomfortable. We are away from our loved ones, our jobs, our normalcy, and our schedules. There is heaviness in knowing there are people working endlessly to care for those who are ill, many have lost their jobs, and our world is in a state of fear and unknowing. As Christians, we still experience this heaviness, but we have such incredible hope in knowing God is in control, he has a plan for what’s next, and he is with us always. Today, find a moment to worship from wherever you are, listen to the song, “Total Praise,” and relinquish your heart to hope and praise instead of fear.
