If you are considering a visit to Crossings, let me put your mind at ease with a few things you might be wondering about. Also, hopefully, these pages will assist you in learning about our beliefs and about the many ministries, Bible studies, classes, services, support groups, and just plain fun that occur throughout the week.
What’s it like at Crossings? Well, we are most definitely a “come as you are” church. The comment I hear most from people is that the big buildings are a bit intimidating at first, but once inside, it was so friendly and easy to get around that “I just fit right in.” Dress is a little bit of everything—some in coats and ties, many in jeans. Just be yourself—and be comfortable.
I’m also asked what Sunday services are like. At the Edmond campus, we offer two Sunday services with a relaxed atmosphere and contemporary worship at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. At the OKC campus, we offer five Sunday services with three unique styles in three different worship environments. If you prefer the sounds of a large choir and orchestra offering a blend of traditional and contemporary music, choose either the 9:15 or the 10:45 a.m. service in the Sanctuary. If you like a relaxed, upbeat atmosphere with all contemporary Christian music, led by Josh Edington and Venue Worship Team, then one of the two services in The Venue (9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.) is the right place for you. For a more traditional, yet powerful, worship, where communion is offered every Sunday, come to the 8:15 a.m. Chapel service.
Most often, you will hear the same message in all seven services. Each Sunday, the 8:15 a.m. Chapel and 9:15 a.m. Sanctuary services have live preaching, while the 10:45 a.m. Venue and 10:45 a.m. Sanctuary services rotate between live preaching and video simulcast. The Edmond campus offers live simulcast and live preaching. It is our desire to cover relevant issues with encouraging and practical biblical truths that can guide us through the best and worst times in life. And, yes, we still do Sunday School. We believe it’s a great way to learn about God’s love for us and build lasting friendships. Classes for all ages are offered at a variety of times on Sunday morning.
I could go on about all you’ll find here, but I’ll let you browse through the website to discover the many opportunities awaiting you.
I hope you’ll visit Crossings, and if you have any additional questions, please feel free to call us at Edmond at 242-5460 or at OKC at 755-2227.
