Volunteer with Afghan Family Ministry
Volunteer with Local Schools
FILL A BACKPACK:
Pick up a backpack in the Crossings OKC Atrium, Venue Lobby, or second floor landing on Sunday, October 22 or 29 from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. You will receive a shopping list and backpack to fill for an elementary student; return it no later than November 12. (If backpacks are not returned by this date, we cannot guarantee they will be delivered to the school.) You can return backpacks to the sleigh in the OKC Atrium or by the Main Office.
SPONSOR AN INDIVIDUAL OR FAMILY
Sponsor a Club student, teacher, Department of Corrections staff member, Safe Families child, or Afghan family by providing gifts or a gift card. Visit the Crossings OKC Atrium, Venue Lobby, or second floor landing on Sunday, October 22 or 29 from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m to receive the name and shopping list of the individual or family you will be purchasing for.
SHOP THE AMAZON WISH LIST
Can't make it to Crossings OKC to sign up for a backpack or to sponsor an individual or family? You can help out by purchasing miscellaneous needed items from the Amazon wish list. Purchases made from the list below will be sent to Crossings OKC and will be used to spread joy to families across Oklahoma City this Christmas.
BACKPACK AND SHOPPING LIST DISTRIBUTION & COLLECTION

Opportunity: Participate in Crossings Christmas Missions Market by distributing backpacks and shopping lists to church members who will fill the backpacks or shop for an individual or family!
BACKPACK AND GIFT COLLECTION
Sundays, November 5 & 12
Age: 5+
Location: Crossings OKC Atrium
Opportunity: Participate in Crossings Christmas Missions Market by collecting backpacks and gifts when they are returned!
BACKPACK SORTING IN THE OKC ATRIUM
November 5, 12, 14, & 16
Age: Adults only
Location: Crossings OKC AtriumOpportunity: Help by sorting backpacks, completing quality checks, and organizing the backpacks by school and classroom.
BACKPACK DELIVERY - includes very heavy lifting
Friday, November 17 • 3-6PM
Age: 15+ with supervising adult
Locations: Starts at Crossings OKC (14600 N Portland Avenue, OKC, OK 73134). Help unload the boxes at both schools: Eugene Field Elementary and Stanley Hupfeld Academy
Opportunity: Help load boxes full of Christmas gifts onto trucks and unload them at the schools to prepare for the distribution of the backpacks to the students during their Christmas parties. This position requires very heavy lifting!
CHRISTMAS PARTY AT EUGENE FIELD
Monday, December 11 • 8:30-11AM
Age: 7+
Location: Eugene Field Elementary
Opportunity: Sign up with your friends to celebrate Christmas with the students at Eugene Field Elementary! You’ll do a craft with the students, sing Christmas carols, read a story, and students will open their backpacks.
SORT AND INVENTORY GIFTS FOR AFGHAN FAMILIES
Monday, December 11 • 1-3PM
Location: Room 250 (Crossings OKC)
Opportunity: Help by sorting gifts, completing quality checks, and organizing the gifts by family.
GIFT SHOPPING FOR AFGHAN FAMILIES
Wednesday, December 13 • 9AM-12PM
Opportunity: Shop for any last minute gifts still needed for the Afghan families. This will not take the whole morning, you can join when you're available to help.
WRAP GIFTS FOR AFGHAN FAMILIES
Monday, December 18 • 5:30-8:30PM
Location: Room 250 (Crossings OKC)
Opportunity: Help by wrapping all of the gifts for each Afghan family.
GIFT DELIVERY TO AFGHAN FAMILIES
Thursday, December 21 • 9AM-5PM
Location: Various locations, you will receive your assignment upon signing up
Opportunity: This can be done anytime during the day or early evening and we will divide up by household.
