This fall, Crossings is partnering with Rebuilding Together OKC through their SheBuilds initiative to change the lives of three women in the 73114 community with total home transformations. Read on to learn more about Peggy, one of the homeowners, and how you can get involved with SheBuilds!
Peggy is a courageous, two-time cancer survivor, and she is currently recovering from a tumor removal surgery mandatory to saving her life. Peggy once owned her own daycare business in her current home, but she is now retired.
Peggy spends a lot of time with Rhonda, her caregiver, who assists her in general wellbeing and treatment recovery. Per her request, the photo of Peggy in this post is an older photo which showcases her during a healthy and happy time in her life.
Peggy is a beautiful person inside and out, and her gentle, kind demeanor shines through every interaction. She has persevered through a stroke, breast cancer, lung cancer, multiple surgeries, and diabetes with the help of her family, medical caregivers, and her faith in God.
When Peggy found out she was going to be part of the SheBuilds program this September, she cried and shared this praise for her circumstances: “I love my home and I want to keep it clean and cozy, but I just haven’t been able to do that and deal with my health. When I found out I was going to be part of SheBuilds, I was so thankful! I have been praying about this for so long, and all thanks be to God for answering my prayers. I am so grateful!”
As Peggy continues to recover from surgery during this time of transformation of her home, please pray for her health and a smooth transition through these repairs and upgrades. We are thankful for this opportunity to be known by love and look forward to seeing how God will work through SheBuilds!
