Over 900 Crossings volunteers served during the week of September 9-14 to transform the homes of three women in the 73114 zip code. Volunteers gave selflessly of their time and resources, completing tasks such as removing and installing flooring, laying tile and setting backsplash, installing light fixtures, painting, cleaning, decorating, and more! Additionally, volunteers and church members donated everything from decor and furniture items to gift cards designed to help purchase blinds, landscaping, and other materials for each home.

Crossings partnered with Rebuilding Together OKC, Love’s, and the Oklahoma City Thunder to make these incredible home transformations possible. One of the homes sponsored by the Crossings OKC church family belongs to Heather and her daughter, Ryleigh. Heather, a spunky, caring homeowner who loves her family and her community, was so thrilled to be a part of SheBuilds and transform her home she helped with the repairs and upgrades!

When volunteers first arrived at her home, her heart for her family was apparent. The renovations and repairs made to her home were intentionally designed to help her get organized, create a space where she and Ryleigh can enjoy their creative pursuits, including music, writing, and photography, and cherish their time together.

Heather and her daughter, Ryleigh, were both shocked when they saw their home during the reveal. When a news reporter asked Heather to rank her surprise with what had been done to her home, she said, “Off the charts! I never could have imagined all this. I don’t even want to bring any extra stuff back in!”
