What’s your favorite thing about teaching and mentoring couples?

Seeing the lightbulb come on when they realize the simplicity of the Love and Respect message.

What are three words you’d use to describe yourself?

Emerson says thankful, prayerful, and friendly.

What are you most passionate about?

People learning the discipline of giving thanks in all things.

What inspires you?

People who have been faithful to each other and to Christ to the end of their life.

What do you do in your spare time?

I enjoy cooking, gardening, and especially hospitality, but nothing compares to spending time with my grandchildren.

How did you know Emerson was the “the one?”

I had never met anyone so passionate about Jesus. He knew where he was headed in life and he liked me just as I was.

What’s something you wish you knew when you first got married?

I’d have to say the same as my husband on this: how God made us male and female, and that neither of us was wrong, just different.

What were some of your expectations coming into marriage? How have they changed?

That we could have a perfect family since that was all I wanted due to the amount of divorce in my family. I found out that I was imperfect and so were others, so God intended us to learn ways of extending grace while pushing for everyone to be the very best version of themselves.

Share a couple of interesting facts people might not know about you.

I am a farm girl from Indiana, and my dad’s farm is shown at the beginning of the movie Hoosiers.
