The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis
This book is a great allegory about a busload of tourists from hell who take a tour of Heaven with the opportunity to stay if they would only surrender their lives to God. It’s an easy read that incorporates much of Lewis’s theology, his views on God’s grace, and the idea of surrender. It’s also a powerful mirror, as we see glimpses of ourselves in many of the tourists’ excuses as to why we hold back portions of our lives from full surrender to God.
