Scope of Position:

The role of Summer/Fall internships at Crossings Kids is to identify and/or cultivate a call to ministry for the participant through hands-on experiences in a church setting.

Summer Internships will begin May 2018 and Fall Internships will begin August 2018.

The Crossings Kids Internship Program is designed to provide the exposure, experience, and development opportunities necessary to build a foundation for your calling.

We cultivate this call by:

  • Exposing the intern to excellent ministry work and leaders.
  • Developing the intern’s leadership and ministry gifts through interaction with key staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Giving the intern equal opportunities to lead and be led. Duties will be chosen to give the intern opportunities to manage the details of programming and also to practice ministry, participating in many of the programs while serving in Crossings Kids.
  • Helping the intern grow in knowledge, faith, and maturity within a Children’s or Preteen Ministry setting.

Interns Will:

  • Have hands-on experience, from behind the scenes brainstorming, supply preparation, to communication, and development.
  • Interns are an important part of our weekly large group programming and play a critical part in creating a dynamic experience for our kids (Sunday and Midweek)
  • Interns will have the opportunity to build relationships with families, kids, and volunteers within your assigned ministry area.
  • Interns have scheduled meetings with their supervisor to sharpen gifts and talents, push past their comfort zone through one-on-one
  • Interns participate in weekly team meetings with fellow interns by participating in weekly rehearsals and group learning opportunities.
  • Interns are involved with all special events for kids that take place throughout the school year. Interns will have the opportunity to do prep work for each event as well as lead kids during the actual event.
  • Interns will also have the opportunity to attend monthly staff chapel, all church staff meetings, team meeting (contingent upon their college schedule and flexibility).
  • Interns will be exposed to how our staff connects and what they do through the week. This allows our interns a better understanding of how full-time ministry operates.

Specifics of the Position:

The Crossings Kids Edmond Intern position will be part-time (10-12 hours per week) for the 2018 calendar year.

Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings required, with additional hours of planning, administration, collaboration and prep-work as needed during the week.

This position reports to the Crossings Kids Pastor for the Edmond campus and will additionally work on occasion under the supervision of the campus Nursery Director.

  • Involvement in Special events planning and execution throughout the year, including but not limited to VBS, 56 Camp, Christmas program and family events.
  • Interact with kids of all ages as well as parents and volunteers in order to help build relationships with kids and families within the Edmond Kids Ministry.

Scope of Position:

The full-time LifeCare (LC) Ministries Administrative Assistant shall provide clerical, organizational, and hospitality support for all assigned LifeCare for Kids/Teens (LC Kids/Teens) and Celebrate Recovery Kids/Teens (CR Kids, CR Teens) programming and special events.  This position assists the departmental efforts to support, encourage, and cultivate LC Kids/Teens program’s volunteers. As well, this position will hold specific duties for administrative support for LifeCare’s Counseling Ministry.

The position’s work hours include both Monday and Thursday evenings, as well as, Friday afternoon Office Reception. This position may, as well, provide coverage for the Department’s Lead Administrative Assistant’s PTO leave. A limited number of weekend commitments, annually, are often needed.

Organizational Relationship:

This position provides administrative and classroom support for LC Kids/Teens, and is supervised by that Ministry Lead for those ministry needs. LifeCare’s Lead Administrative Assistant oversees the position’s counseling administrative support, office hours, and day-to-day function.

Responsibilities

The LC Kids/Teens Administrative Assistant, will provide administrative support all aspects of LC Kids/Teens programming including the following:

  • Assist in communications for church newsletter, web site, weekly e-mailings
  • Manage all curriculum
  • Assist in providing support for volunteers
  • Participation as needed in all classes of Monday Night’s LifeTools and CareSeries Teens, as well as, Thursday night’s CR Kids and CR Teens
  • Manage attendance reports, as well as other assigned reports
  • Oversee and coordinate facilities usage and set-up for the programs
  • Oversee all aspects of hospitality for the program and events

In the function of LC Counseling Ministry, the Assistant will provide general office support as directed by the LC Lead Admin Ass’t. as exampled by, but not limited to:

  • Counseling Client reception and telephone, including scheduling for all counselors
  • Departmental phone traffic, directing inbound, messages, and return calls
  • Management and maintenance of calendars of the LifeCare Ministry staff, chart and client-related record keeping to clinical standards, procedures and protocol, counseling statistical tracking (phones, session), and LC Programming statistical tracking (attendance and classes)
  • Other office tasks and errands as determined and assigned by the LC Lead Administrative Assistant
  • Any additional support of any other LifeCare programming or special events, as needed
  • The LifeCare Pastor may assign any other task(s) as deemed helpful.

  • Bring energy, fun and innovation to our High School Ministry, maintaining a careful balance of outreach, engagement and discipleship/spiritual growth.
  • Cooperate with a ministry strategy to address the relational, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of students and lead by example in meeting those needs.
  • Work with the Lead Pastor of High School Ministry in the selection of curricula and curricular goals.
  • Work with the Lead Pastor of High School Ministry in identifying, recruiting, equipping and supporting volunteers for high school students.
  • Work with the Lead Pastor of High School Ministry to provide leadership and oversight to the weekly gatherings, quality of teaching and programming and student trips.
  • Work with the Lead Pastor of High School Ministry in developing opportunities for both outreach and service as well as follow-up and general care for high school students.
  • Create and implement an annual ministry plan.
  • Provide on-going evaluation of the growth and quality of the High School Ministry. Develop plans and establish goals for improvement on an annual basis, at a minimum.
  • Develop methods for connecting students and families to the church body.
  • Work closely with Facilities Manager to insure that youth facilities are ready for effectively carrying out all High School programs and activities.
  • Work closely with the Director of Security and Pastor of Volunteers to provide security measures for all High School activities. Also, insure background checks are accomplished for all volunteers in the High School program.

  • Intermediate skills with an EHR
  • Current CPR certification.

  • Provides educational information to patient and family regarding the patient condition, promotes health maintenance collaborating with the team to coordinate and facilitate optimal health and care. 

  • Provides clinical supervision/oversight of Advanced Practitioner(s). 

  • Conducts chart reviews to ensure appropriate documentation and record keeping by staff and volunteer providers.
  • Recommends opportunities for improvement and service expansion to enhance the offering of effective prevention and medical interventions.
  • Ensures compliance with standards, laws and regulations as created by regulatory and accrediting organizations. 

  • Prays with patients/families/staff/volunteers and directs, when needed to, resources for healthy physical and spiritual lives. 

  • Participates in the recruitment, selection and orientation of physician volunteers.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with volunteers and related community organizations that are partners in the clinics ministry. Represents the interests of the Clinic within the community as a ministry. 

  • Participates in interview and selection process of key clinic personnel. 

  • Assists with the educational activities for the staff and Clinic volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for data input into electronic health records. Maintain client information in electronic medical record and other locations for medical documentation as needed.
  • Respond to outside request for medical records in a timely fashion.
  • Assist in the day to day medical clinic activities, working closely with other clinic staff and volunteers to see that the clinic is functioning as a ministry with sensitivity and compassion for all we serve.
  • Works closely with the Physician Assistant and Medical Director to assure patient and volunteer providers’ clinical needs are being meet.

  • Assist with patient flow from check-in to check-out.
  • Assures that the medical exam rooms are stocked and ready for patient care on a daily basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patients as required by law.
  • Anticipate the needs of the providers and is proactive in helping them achieve timely patient visits in an effective manner: assist providers in exam rooms, relays information to the patients as instructed by providers or nurses. Assist providers with procedures as requested.
  • Assist in the training, encouraging and nurturing of medical volunteers as requested.
  • Record phone calls and communicate to medical providers the needs of our patients and return calls to patients as requested.

  • Help in the follow up of lab results and /or diagnostic test results as directed by providers.
  • Perform basic procedures such as: EKGs, CLIA waived lab tests, room patients and take histories under the supervision of a licensed nurse or medical provider.
  • Practice good stewardship in utilizing clinic resources.
  • Purchase medical supplies when requested.
