Scope of Position:

The Pastor of High School Ministry will give pastoral leadership and general oversight to all aspects of the church’s ministry to students in 9th through 12th grades, with specific attention to male students.

Organizational Relationship:

The Pastor of High School Ministry shall be accountable to the Lead Pastor of High School Ministry and shall serve as a member of the Student Ministries Team.

Responsibilities

  • Bring energy, fun and innovation to our High School Ministry, maintaining a careful balance of outreach, engagement and discipleship/spiritual growth.
  • Cooperate with a ministry strategy to address the relational, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of students and lead by example in meeting those needs.
  • Work with the Lead Pastor of High School Ministry in the selection of curricula and curricular goals.
  • Work with the Lead Pastor of High School Ministry in identifying, recruiting, equipping and supporting volunteers for high school students.
  • Work with the Lead Pastor of High School Ministry to provide leadership and oversight to the weekly gatherings, quality of teaching and programming and student trips.
  • Work with the Lead Pastor of High School Ministry in developing opportunities for both outreach and service as well as follow-up and general care for high school students.
  • Create and implement an annual ministry plan.
  • Provide on-going evaluation of the growth and quality of the High School Ministry. Develop plans and establish goals for improvement on an annual basis, at a minimum.
  • Develop methods for connecting students and families to the church body.
  • Work closely with Facilities Manager to insure that youth facilities are ready for effectively carrying out all High School programs and activities.
  • Work closely with the Director of Security and Pastor of Volunteers to provide security measures for all High School activities. Also, insure background checks are accomplished for all volunteers in the High School program.
  • Assist in maintaining the highest possible ministry standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose Statement and Core Values of Crossings Community Church.
  • Support the leadership of CCC, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and congregation.

  • Represent CCC in civic and ministry-related efforts as approved.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned to fulfill the role of Pastor of High School Ministry.

The Pastor of High School Ministry shall exhibit spiritual gifts such as leadership, teaching, faith, encouragement, wisdom and administration. He shall be a proven, effective leader in the areas of responsibility attached to this position.

Education and Experience

The Pastor of High School Ministry shall possess an undergraduate degree, at a minimum, with a strong understanding of the contemporary youth culture, family dynamics and the local church, preferably with a minimum of 2–3 years of experience in student ministry.

The Middle School Pastor will be instrumental in helping us do some incredible things in our incredible city!

Responsibilities

  • Works with the OKC Middle School Team: 2 Middle School Pastors (Male and Female; FT), Ministry Coordinator (FT) and at least two interns (PT).

  • Provides pastoral leadership to all aspects of the church’s ministry to students in 7th and 8th grades, with specific attention to male students.

  • 
Provides collaborative coordination of weekly programming for 135+ 7th-8th grade students.
  • 
Is a competent and engaging communicator, understanding their audience (middle school students, parents).
  • 
Does weekly contact work, meeting with volunteers, students and families (attending games/events, one on one coffee or lunches, dinner at a family’s home…etc.)
  • Assists in planning and executing a comprehensive calendar (series, events, spiritual growth opportunities).

Works with Connections & Guest Services to follow up with First Time Families with 7-8th grade students.
  • 
Participates in leadership for special programs and events as requested or assigned.

Represents Crossings Community Church in community and ministry-related efforts as requested
  • Complete any other tasks as may be needed to fulfill this position or as may be assigned to fulfill the needs, mission and goals of Crossings Community Church and the Crossings Student Ministry.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an ACGME or AACOM accredited medical school and accepted residency.
  • Board certified/eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • In good standing with the state of Oklahoma Medical Board and qualified for standard malpractice insurance rates.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of health planning and management.
  • Intermediate skills with an EHR
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the health care team promoting excellent patient care.
  • Ability to actively engage, lead, coach, develop, and energize volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to be a spiritual leader among the staff and volunteers with a strong commitment to the mission.
  • Strong spiritual gifts of discernment, compassion, teaching, and encouragement.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses the health status of individuals and families through history taking, physical examination and diagnosis. 

  • Prescribes and manages the medical plan of care for assigned patients. Initiates follow‐up for lab and diagnostic testing results as indicated. Initiates and maintains accurate records.

  • Provides educational information to patient and family regarding the patient condition, promotes health maintenance collaborating with the team to coordinate and facilitate optimal health and care. 

  • Provides clinical supervision/oversight of Advanced Practitioner(s). 

  • Conducts chart reviews to ensure appropriate documentation and record keeping by staff and volunteer providers.
  • Recommends opportunities for improvement and service expansion to enhance the offering of effective prevention and medical interventions.
  • Ensures compliance with standards, laws and regulations as created by regulatory and accrediting organizations. 

  • Prays with patients/families/staff/volunteers and directs, when needed to, resources for healthy physical and spiritual lives. 

  • Participates in the recruitment, selection and orientation of physician volunteers.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with volunteers and related community organizations that are partners in the clinics ministry. Represents the interests of the Clinic within the community as a ministry. 

  • Participates in interview and selection process of key clinic personnel. 

  • Assists with the educational activities for the staff and Clinic volunteers.
  • Other duties may be assigned to fulfill the job’s position.

Commitment

Part‐time, salaried position, no benefits; occasional evenings/weekends 


Physical and Other Requirements

  • Be able to stand for up to four hours, walk a quarter of a mile, and to lift and carry 15-25 pounds for 500 feet
  • Must possess a current driver’s license.
  • Has the ability for a flexible schedule as some evenings and weekend hours may be required.
  • Maintain a vibrant relationship with Christ through prayer, Bible study, and fellowship.
