OKC PUBLIC SCHOOLS NEEDS VOLUNTEERS
OKCPS is in serious need of volunteers to help prepare meals for the children at some of our local schools from April 16 – May 8. For some children, this may be their only meal of the day. We would encourage you to volunteer with any of the schools, but because of our relationship with Shidler Elementary and proximity with Nichols Hills Elementary, we would love to provide extra support to them during this time.

CRITICAL NEEDS FOR OKC AREA HOSPITALS
Local hospitals are in urgent need of facial masks and gloves. There are two ways that you can help:
- Accepting donations of boxed masks or food service masks including dust masks, painter’s masks, construction masks, food service masks, or surgical masks.
- Homemade Masks: if you are a seamstress, with supplies on hand, we could use your help to make mask for the hospitals. Click here for instructions, a DIY video, and drop off locations/times.
- Donate Gloves: These need to be non-latex gloves, if at all possible. Accepting food service gloves, as well. No garden gloves or rubber type gloves of any kind. Please have these packaged in Ziploc baggies for drop-off.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE FROM YOUR HOME
PRAY FOR LOCAL FACILITIES
One of the greatest privileges we have as Christ-followers, is the ability to pray for each other. We have seen and experienced the power of prayer in our own lives and witnessed the hand of God move on behalf of his people. You may not feel as if you can do much in our world right now, but you have the powerful gift of praying for those who serve in the trenches every day.
- Adopt a hospital/senior living facility or two closest to where you live.
- Spend 10 minutes every day praying for the facility, the patients, and the workers. Pray for your facility from home and invite your small group or Sunday School class to pray with you online. Perhaps you can post written prayers on social media and tag your facility’s Facebook page.
One of our local ER doctors and a Crossings family member shared:
“I feel overwhelmed on a daily basis by where I find myself but remember Esther “for such a time as this.” This is not a surprise to God. When he called me to be a physician, he knew I would be serving during this time. It is God that I am and will continue to rely upon for strength and peace. I don’t know what is ahead. I unfortunately know scientifically and medically what is predicted for our city. I stand ready to fight as do my many colleagues. Having the community rally around us in so many ways, tangible and intangible, with prayers and support is and will see us through. We covet your prayers—there is such great power in them!”
