Our mission at Crossings Community Center is to humbly proclaim the message of Jesus by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of those in our community.

We serve as the missions hub for Crossings Community Church and strive to partner with those in surrounding neighborhoods to build a more spiritually, physically, and relationally healthy community.

Mission & Purpose

Crossings Community Center focuses on community development in the inner-city of OKC by addressing a variety of issues.

For example, our after school program, called The Club, builds Christ-centered mentoring relationships while teaching life skills (cooking, technology, exercise, creative expression) to John Marshall Middle and High School students.

With a passion for supporting strong family units, which positively affect the community at large, we host Community Nights. These nights focus on bringing the family together to have some fun, meet neighbors, and build lasting relationships.

We also know the importance staying active and healthy, so we’ve partnered with Integris to offer a variety of fitness classes for those in our community that need it the most.

Our focused service is designed to glorify God and bring dignity and unity our wonderful city.

Crossings Community Center is committed to bringing positive and lasting change to the heart of OKC because Christ has brought positive and lasting change to our heart. Our only logical response is complete obedience to Him, who reminds us to live a life that’s bigger than our own.

Volunteer

We can’t do it alone, nor should we. If you want to partner with those in our community to help make this an all-around healthier city, we’d love to have you on our team! Contact us today about volunteer opportunities!

At the Club, we are passionate about sharing Christ with inner-city youth attending John Marshall Middle School and High School. The following opportunities are available at the Crossings Community Center from September through May on Thursday afternoons unless otherwise stated – to learn more about an opportunity, click it! If you’re interested in volunteering, complete the form immediately following the list.

  • Administrative Coordinator

    Administrative Coordinator

One day a week during the day

We have a lot for unique people come through our doors for different reasons. Help us capture their information, some light data entry, and find out how best we can serve them.

  • 5-Minute Devotion Leaders

    5-Minute Devotion Leaders

One or two days a week, mornings or evenings

We want to make sure that we do not offer just another program. We want to make sure every event we have at The Center is a ministry. Help us do this by leading small devotions based on the schedule that works best for you!

  • Center Event Liaison Coordinator

    Center Event Liaison Coordinator

    Weekdays, As Needed

Be the liaison to groups who want to reserve the Community Center by walking them through the process to ensure the needs of the group are met. Liaisons are on-site during the event unless a staff member is present.

  • Club Small Group Leaders

    Club Small Group Leaders

    Thursdays, 2:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

This is one of the most important, and most fun ministries we have at The Center. We meet weekly, during the school year, to mentor, pour into, and build relationships with a group of inner-city middle school and high school students.

  • Club Free Time Leaders

    Club Free Time Leaders

    Thursdays, 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

A lot of our students do not get basic life-skills taught to them at home. Do you have a special life skill, talent, hobby, or employable skill? Come pass along your knowledge to our Club Students, for a four or five-week block at a time.

  • Club Art Leader

    Club Art Leader

    Thursdays, 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Art is a huge part of everything we do at The Center. We love giving our neighbors the opportunity to express themselves creatively, and discover new ways to worship God. We could use a few committed artists to lead our Club Students through different art projects.

  • Club Gym/Fitness Leader

    Club Gym/Fitness Leader

    Thursdays, 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

We always want to make sure our Club students are healthy and understand the benefit of healthy living an exercise. If you want to have some fun playing sports, leading classes, and getting fit with our Club students, we would love to have you on our team!

  • CDL Driver

    CDL Driver

    Thursdays, 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

One of the biggest expenses we have at The Center is transportation for our Club students. We would love to have someone with a CDL help get our students from John Marshall High School and Middle School to The Community Center. We have the students. We have the buses. We just need the drivers.

  • Evening Hosts

    Evening Hosts

    One day a week, 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Help us provide a warm welcome to our neighbors, as they come in to participate in our various ministries. This is a great way to make some lasting relationships with those in our OKC inner-city.

  • Food Team

    Food Team

    Thursday afternoons

Serve on either the snack team (2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.) or dinner team (4:30 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.) to set-up the food for the students then afterwards clean up.

  • Senior Ministry Hosts

    Senior Ministry Hosts

    Mondays and/or Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

A big need in the community we serve is to reach out to the senior citizens, a fragment of the population that can be easily forgotten. Help us welcome them every Monday and or Wednesday, share a cup a coffee, play a board game, and simply be there for them.

  • Inner-City Summer Gym Monitors

    Inner-City Summer Gym Monitors

    Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

One of the biggest needs in the community we serve is giving the youth somewhere safe and wholesome to be. This year we want to open our basketball gym to the local teenagers during the day and give them a place to be where there are Christian adults who know them and want to build relationships with them.

  • Social Media

    Social Media

    Varies, volunteer from home

A huge need of the facility is communication both with Crossings Community Church and the population that The Center serves. If you enjoy scrolling and posting on social media, use that time as a ministry for Crossings Community Center!

  • Photographer

    Photographer

    As Needed

Do you have some the skills of photography or videography? Help us communicate all the ministries of the Community Center to the people we serve through your talents of a photographer, and maybe even teach some of our students how to do the same!
