Scope of Position:

The Medical Ministry Intern supports the clinic as an integral staff member through ongoing tasks related to administration, clinician support, quality improvement, community outreach, and management of special projects. The intern also works collaboratively with medical professionals and administrative staff to help fulfill the Clinic’s mission of proclaiming the message of Jesus by serving the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the uninsured. The intern will also learn how a charitable clinic operates behind-the-scenes, gain an appreciation for the systems and support that directly impact the delivery of clinical care, gain skills and knowledge surrounding health center leadership, and acquire a better understanding of how to provide holistic, Christ-centered healthcare.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required
  • Ability to form and maintain vibrant relationships that point people to Jesus
  • Organized self-starter possessing intermediate computer skills
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to analyze data and clinic flow to develop creative solutions to problems and suggest improvements
  • Spiritual gifts will include, but may not be limited to: administration, leadership, encouragement, service, and compassion

Responsibilities

    Administration:

  • Assistant to Clinic Leadership – scheduling, additional projects, meetings
  • Analyze and present data for clinical performance and operational measures
  • Enter and retrieve data from the clinic’s electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Clarify, document and enhance clinic flow and operations
  • Conduct patient, employee and volunteer satisfaction surveys
    Clinician Support:

  • Assist with patient scheduling and check-in
  • Assist providers and support staff in clinic
  • Pray for patients and engage with them
    Community Outreach:

  • Expand and continue to develop clinic and community center social media presence
  • Assist at the community center
  • Participate in development of new community programs/initiatives
    Education and Growth:

  • Complete the Medical Ministry Curriculum
  • Participate in daily staff devotions and spiritual development
  • Attend clinic leadership meetings
  • Attend CCHF and OCCA conferences
  • Shadow clinic staff

Commitment

Full-time, salaried position for 10-12 months; occasional evenings/weekends


Physical and Other Requirements

  • Be able to stand for up to four hours, walk a quarter of a mile, and to lift and carry 15-25 pounds for 500 feet
  • Must possess a current driver’s license.
  • Has the ability for a flexible schedule as some evenings and weekend hours will be
    required.
  • Maintain a vibrant relationship with Christ through prayer, Bible study, and fellowship.
  • Maintain active participation in a local church body

Scope of Position:

The Operations Manager oversees, monitors, and manages the delivery of medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health services provided by the Crossings Community Clinic. As the operational leader, the Operations Manager is at the forefront of enhancing the services provided by the clinic through visioning, training, process integration and process improvement. The Operations Manager also serves as a member of the Clinic Leadership Team and works collaboratively with medical professionals and administrative staff to help fulfill the Clinic’s mission of proclaiming the message of Jesus by serving the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the uninsured. The position reports to the Executive Director of Crossings Community Clinic.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited university required
  • Registered nurse licensure current and in good standing in the State of Oklahoma
  • Minimum 5 years current clinical experience in nursing
  • Knowledge of current clinical standards of care and ability to integrate them into the
    practices of Crossing Community Clinic
  • Ability to form and maintain vibrant relationships that point people to Jesus

Responsibilities

    Oversee and lead Clinic Staff and Volunteers:

  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with clinic staff and volunteers and
    related community organizations that are partners in the clinic’s ministry objective
  • Provide effective staff and volunteer management

  • Hire, develop, train, assign, and provide performance feedback for clinic staff
  • Ensure utilization of personnel and volunteers to best meet the needs of the
    patients and medical providers
  • Evaluate service needs and staffing requirements to recommend and implement
    enhancements to improve delivery of services to patients
  • Develop quality performance indicators for functions supervised and use for
    process improvement
  • Oversee training, utilization, and optimization of the electronic health records system
  • Establish, enhance, and execute plans to ensure continuity of clinic operations
  • Oversee operational flow when services are being provided to patients to enhance
    practices and ensure clinic consistently operates with excellence

    Serve on the Clinic Leadership Team:

  • Aid with establishment, enhancement, and execution of the long-term vision for the clinic
    ministry and staff members
  • Assist with the development of strategic, tactical, and operational plans
  • Plan, develop, and implement procedures and policies that enhance the quality of service
    for patients and support the goal of people managing their own health care
  • Provide effective and efficient budget management and maximize the use of all resources
  • Recommend and ensure staff involvement in in-service education programs to promote
    staff development
  • Engage with the Medical Director to consider student and clinical rotations from various
    qualified schools
  • Assist staff and volunteers in quality assurance programs for all areas of the clinic
    Engage in Strategic Process Improvement for All Clinic Functions:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, staff competence, licensure, and continuing
    education requirements
  • AMonitor incident data for trends and implement corrective action plans
    Participate in efforts to address topic specific issues and represent the Crossings Clinic at local and state level and through collaboration of community partners:

  • Engage with the state and national organizations that share our desire to minister to and
    serve the medically vulnerable (e.g., Butterfield Foundation, Health Alliance for the
    Uninsured, Christian Community Health Fellowship, National Association of Free and
    Charitable Clinics, and Oklahoma Charitable Clinic Association)

The Physician Medical Director is a collaborative member of the health care team performing duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission and values of Crossings Community Clinic. The Physician Medical Director also serves as a member of the Clinic Leadership Team and reports to the Director of Crossings Community Clinic.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an ACGME or AACOM accredited medical school and accepted residency.
  • Board certified/eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • In good standing with the state of Oklahoma Medical Board and qualified for standard malpractice insurance rates.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of health planning and management.
  • Intermediate skills with an EHR
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the health care team promoting excellent patient care.
  • Ability to actively engage, lead, coach, develop, and energize volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to be a spiritual leader among the staff and volunteers with a strong commitment to the mission.
  • Strong spiritual gifts of discernment, compassion, teaching, and encouragement.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses the health status of individuals and families through history taking, physical examination and diagnosis. 

  • Prescribes and manages the medical plan of care for assigned patients. Initiates follow‐up for lab and diagnostic testing results as indicated. Initiates and maintains accurate records.

  • Provides educational information to patient and family regarding the patient condition, promotes health maintenance collaborating with the team to coordinate and facilitate optimal health and care. 

  • Provides clinical supervision/oversight of Advanced Practitioner(s). 

  • Conducts chart reviews to ensure appropriate documentation and record keeping by staff and volunteer providers.
  • Recommends opportunities for improvement and service expansion to enhance the offering of effective prevention and medical interventions.
  • Ensures compliance with standards, laws and regulations as created by regulatory and accrediting organizations. 

  • Prays with patients/families/staff/volunteers and directs, when needed to, resources for healthy physical and spiritual lives. 

  • Participates in the recruitment, selection and orientation of physician volunteers.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with volunteers and related community organizations that are partners in the clinics ministry. Represents the interests of the Clinic within the community as a ministry. 

  • Participates in interview and selection process of key clinic personnel. 

  • Assists with the educational activities for the staff and Clinic volunteers.
  • Other duties may be assigned to fulfill the job’s position.
