The photograph resembles what a person can come to see after completing Centered. The night sky and stars represent the calm in our lives as well as God’s creation around us (Chapter 1). The wind-blown grass represents the daily grind of life that each of us face in our own way. This also, to me, represents our prayer life (Chapter 4). Our prayers ebb and flow with each of the circumstances and requests we take on, just as the grass flows in the wind. The lightning and storms in the background represent the storms in our lives. It also relates to the evil one (Chapter 8) who is constantly on our horizons planning our demise. Lastly, the cross represents our center in Christ (Chapter 5-Bread and Cup). No matter what is going on in our lives, as long as we have Christ at the center, we will forever be grounded in truth and lead to the light.
