The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.

Psalm 65:8

I wholeheartedly agree with the lyric, “it’s the most wonderful time of the year.” Even as a child, I noticed something different about this time of the year. People are so much nicer to each other, they seem to be more generous, and everyone is smiling (except at the mall, so shop online as much as possible!).

There’s a strong sense of gratitude and an awareness of how fortunate we truly are. As an adult with children of my own, I’m always excited to enter into this season as a family because I know we are making lifelong memories together each time.

I think Psalm 65:8 is happening right now. The whole earth is filled with awe of His wonders. But some fail to acknowledge that Jesus is the only true source of peace, joy, hope, and love. I encourage us as Christians to lean into God’s spirit this Christmas season. Recognize His goodness for all He has done and be in awe of His wonders that surround us.

He is always revealing Himself to us if we are willing to simply be still and acknowledge His presence. Let us not forget to pray for those who don’t believe; all our hearts seem to be more vulnerable around Christmas time.

I encourage you to be open to how God might use you to be His peace, joy, hope, and love to those around you this Christmas.
