Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they went to the tomb. On the way they were asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled aside. When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!

– Mark 16:2-7

Dear Jesus,
Today I claim you, celebrate you, and proclaim you as the risen Lord. In your death, sin lost its grip on me. But in your resurrected life, I live in the confident hope that death is not the end. Resurrection changes everything! The empty tomb declares victory over death, and that hope triumphs over despair. Fill me with the hope, joy, and power your resurrection offers. Today and every day, help me believe in the transforming power of that miracle in my own life. You are a God of redemption, a God of restoration, and a God of resurrection. There is no one like you! Make my faith strong and my conviction sure as I seek to live in your power.
In the risen Christ I pray, Amen.

Today, as you celebrate Easter with those you love, take a moment to slow down and thank God for the gift of eternal life given to us through Jesus’ sacrifice.
