But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

– Acts 1:8

You are Father of all. No one is beyond your love or insignificant in your eyes. Give me the compassion you have for your children, so I know how to pray for them. Eliminate any barriers I have consciously or subconsciously set up between me and those near and far so I can pray untethered, bold, heart-expanding prayers for people throughout my neighborhood, community, country, and the world. To pray for them I must love them; to love them, I must know them; to know them, I must seek them. Open my heart Lord. Send me, in prayer or in person.
In the name of Jesus,

As this week’s prayers have reminded us, we are given a great privilege and responsibility as Christians to pray for our neighbors. Sometimes, we can forget our neighbors aren’t just those who share our subdivisions, but those across the globe, too. Today, take a few moments to pray for our missionary families and be reminded of the needs of our neighbors near and far.
