SCRIPTURE:

For you have acquired new creation life which is continually being renewed into the likeness of the One who created you; giving you the full revelation of God. In this new creation life, your nationality makes no difference, or your ethnicity, education, or economic status—they matter nothing. For it is Christ that means everything as he lives in every one of us! You are always and dearly loved by God! So robe yourself with virtues of God, since you have been divinely chosen to be holy. Be merciful as you endeavor to understand others, and be compassionate, showing kindness toward all. Be gentle and humble, unoffendable in your patience with others.

– Colossians 3:10-12 TPT

PRAYER:

Father God,
Thank you for the gift of new life through your Son, Jesus Christ, and for the new identity I have in him. You have restored me to such wholeness, everything the world places value in is meaningless. All that really matters is that you love me, you chose me, and you live in me. Through the power of your Holy Spirit, help me reject impatience and anger and reach out to others with the same kindness and compassion that you offered me. Reveal where my pride is getting in the way so I can surrender and confess it, as my desire is a humble heart. Remind me that I may be the only way someone might meet you today, so let me represent you in truth and love.
In Jesus name,
Amen.

CALL TO ACTION:

Today’s prayer reminds us that no matter how broken, lost, or far from God we feel, he can restore us, he loves us, and he is always near us. Make time today to read “Restored,” an excerpt from Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs’ book called Restored: Getting Back to Who You Were Meant to Be, and consider picking up a copy from the Crossings Bookstore. In Restored, Marty explores the things in our lives that can lead us away from God and ways he can restore us and set us in a new direction.
