If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

– John 14:15-17 ESV

When I pray for you to guide me, I imagine you leading from the front. When I ask for your protection, I envision you fortifying the area around the outside of my body. When I plead for your rescue, I picture you reaching down from above. Yet, I am reminded today, your power and your presence come from your Spirit in me. The Spirit leads by revealing or reminding me of the truth in your Word and giving me wisdom when I ask. Your Spirit convicts me when I come up against temptation, and gives me strength so I will not stumble. The Holy Spirit saves me from anxious thoughts and desperate feelings, with an assurance that you are not merely near me, but you are always with me.
In Jesus name,

Today’s powerful prayer reminds us God’s Spirit is in each of us, and we have the privilege of sharing that with everyone we encounter. To grow in our relationships with him, be encouraged, and connect in community with others, come to a Wednesday night class at Crossings Edmond or OKC tonight.
