He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time

– 2 Timothy 1-9 NIV

Father God,
I bow before you and humbly thank you for your amazing grace. I am intensely aware there was nothing humanly possible I could do to earn my salvation, but only because of your sovereign will and grace I have received it. Because of this amazing grace, I can now choose the pursuit of holiness over the pursuit of happiness, and in the midst of this journey find my life’s true meaning and indescribable joy! Holy Spirit, guide me today and with each step, deliver me closer to you.

As we enjoy our weekends full of sports, relaxation, chores, and entertainment, it can be easy for us to get wrapped up in ourselves, especially as we interact with others. We can get impatient driving behind someone who’s going slower. We can get short with someone who takes too long to check out in the grocery store. We can get upset if someone gets our order wrong at a restaurant. Today, share the incredible grace you have received through your relationship with God with someone else. Demonstrating God’s grace to others helps them to experience God, but it also helps us to grow and honor him.
