SCRIPTURE:

And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.

– Ezekiel 36:26-27

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the gift of a new heart and for putting your Spirit in me the day I first believed. I pray that I am reminded of the enormity of the sacrifice that was required for this gift and respond with a heart full of gratitude and faith. I want to study and know your Word, seek your will, and follow your ways. May I be open to the work of the Spirit constantly renewing my mind and soul, submissive to your will in thought and in deed, and respectful and obedient to your commands. I pray this all in my Savior’s name,
Amen.

CALL TO ACTION:

God calls us to follow him and trust him with all we do and everything we are, but that isn’t always a simple task. Some days, it’s easier to revert back to old ways, try to take control back from him, and have hearts which are stubborn toward him and others in our lives. Today, think back over the times you have had a stubborn heart and how God has changed you to be open to others and to his will and purpose for you; share an experience with us in the form below.
